Big pike time

This is such a great time to fish for trophy pike with one uncontrollable exception — the weather! Last week the wind was just-a-blowin’ nonstop for 4 days. The Kobani’s were visiting and staying at the camp on Snow Pond and we fished hard. But the wind just wouldn’t stop and it made fishing conditions unbearable. The good news is, we found a lot of fish breaking water and chasing bait, so that made the fishing exciting. Al Kobani had a giant pike rip off his buzz bait and we ended up catch about 8 pike and a couple small bass. Too bad it was so windy cause I think he could have caught many more fish! That Friday I took Bob Sagat and his buddy Milt up in the stream because the wind made the lake unfishable. Well, Milt hooked into a beauty which I’ve posted below. So there’s a lot of big pike in the shallows right now. There’s at least 2 more good weeks of fishing ahead too. Check out the speicals board . . .
